Port Hope United Church supports:
Fare Share Food Bank:
White Gift Sunday:
On this Sunday in December, our food and monetary donations are collected in support of the Salvation Army Christmas Hamper program.
The Giving Tree:
Gifts purchased throughout Advent are delivered to the Alderville Women's Shelter to help the women and children they serve.
Green Wood Dinners:
We assist in the Green Wood Coalition’s community pot luck dinners by providing a home-style meal six times a year. The community dinners are held on Wednesdays at 6 pm at St. John's Anglican Church on Pine Street and are open to anyone in need of food or social connection. Your donations of food, money and especially offers of help are always welcome.
River of Hope: Refugee Sponsorship:
In January 2016, our congregation voted to join with four other churches to sponsor and support a Syrian refugee family in Port Hope through the auspices of the Anglican United Refugee Alliance (AURA). River of Hope: Refugee Sponsorship plans to assist a Syrian family of five or six people for one year as they make their home in our community.
We also actively support the Mission and Service Fund
of The United Church of Canada.
